The complete itinerary

11 days / 10 nights,
day by day.

A real day-by-day route, always ready to be tailored around your dates, pace and choice of camps.

Day 1

Windhoek

Upon arrival in Windhoek, you will be met by your guide and handed your travel documents. Subject to time, you will then enjoy a guided city tour of Windhoek to explore the capital. The remainder of the day is yours to relax at your leisure, and this evening you can head into town to dine at one of Windhoek’s well-known restaurants.

Overnight at The Weinberg

Day 2 - 3

Sossusvlei

After breakfast, you can pop into town for any last-minute essentials before departing Windhoek and heading south toward your lodge for the next two nights. Your journey will take you through either the scenic Spreetshoogte or Remhoogte Pass, both offering breathtaking views of Namibia’s rugged natural landscapes.

On Day 3, wake up early for breakfast before making your way south to Sossusvlei to capture striking photos as the morning sun rises over the red desert dunes. You will spend the morning exploring the region's famous highlights, including Sossusvlei, Deadvlei, Dune 45, Big Daddy, Elim Dune, and Sesriem Canyon. Afterward, return to the lodge for lunch, then head back into the park in the late afternoon to photograph the changing colors of the landscape at sunset. Optional activities available during your stay include a guided Sossusvlei excursion, a hot air balloon safari, and scenic nature drives.

Overnight at Dead Valley Lodge

Day 4 - 5

Walvis Bay

After breakfast, depart heading north toward Solitaire, then turn west to cross the Tropic of Capricorn. Your journey continues through the dramatic landscapes of the Gaub and Kuiseb Canyons and across the Namib Gravel Plains toward the coast. Known as the Skeleton Coast, this coastline earned its name from its desolate shores, historical whale bones, and numerous shipwrecks scattered along the beach.

You will have one full day set aside to experience this remarkable area, with Walvis Bay offering a wide range of activities, including dolphin cruises, Sandwich Harbour 4x4 excursions, dune quad biking, sandboarding, and sea kayaking. During your stay, lunches and dinners can be enjoyed at any of the region's many excellent coastal cafés and seafood restaurants overlooking the ocean.

Overnight at Strand Hotel Swakopmund

Day 6

Spitzkoppe

Departing Swakopmund, you will travel north along the Skeleton Coast via Henties Bay to visit the Cape Cross seal colony. Along the drive, you will stop to view the local Lichen Fields as well as a historic shipwreck located between the colorful coastal settlement of Wlotskasbaken and Henties Bay.

From there, you will backtrack to Henties Bay and head inland across wide, open plains toward Spitzkoppe. You will have time to explore and photograph the dramatic mountain and desert landscapes, including the famous Rock Arch and surrounding rock formations, with an opportunity to view ancient Bushman rock art. In the evening, relax and enjoy the sunset over the granite peaks—frequently praised as one of the most beautiful sunsets in Africa.

Overnight at Spitzkoppen Lodge

Day 7 - 8

Etosha Natural Park

After breakfast, your journey continues via Usakos and Karibib before turning north through Omaruru to Outjo, making your way toward Andersson Gate at the southern entrance of Etosha National Park. If time permits upon arrival, you can head directly into the park for an afternoon game drive. Depending on your pace and stops along the way, you should arrive at your lodge in time for lunch (optional extra).

Upon entering the park, your first stop is Okaukuejo to pay your park entry fees (included). Here, you can also stop by the local shop to purchase snacks, drinks, and an essential map of Etosha detailing the park's waterholes. You will spend the next two nights in this area, with one full day set aside for game drives across the park or relaxing by the lodge's waterhole—a prime spot for viewing wildlife both day and night. As one of Africa’s premier game reserves, Etosha is home to 114 mammal species and 340 bird species, promising an exceptional variety of wildlife sightings throughout your safari.

Overnight at Okaukuejo Resort

Day 9

Etosha National Park

Traveling from one side of the park to the other offers a full day of game viewing as you make your way slowly eastward, stopping at numerous waterholes along the route. Enjoy a peaceful drive in the morning, followed by a packed lunch (optional extra) overlooking one of the waterholes, before continuing your safari through the park toward the eastern gate in the afternoon.

Overnight at Onguma The Fort

Day 10

Okonjima

From Etosha, head south via Otavi and Otjiwarongo to Okonjima, home of the AfriCat Foundation. Aim to arrive by 14:00 at the latest so you can enjoy afternoon tea, coffee, and cakes before setting off on your afternoon excursion. After dinner, you have the option to visit the night hide to observe nocturnal animals in their natural habitat.

Overnight at Okonjima Luxury Bush Camp

Day 11

End of Itinerary

Rise early for a quick snack before participating in your choice of morning activity—either a visit to the AfriCat Foundation or a drive through the expansive animal enclosure reserve. Afterward, return to the lodge for a hearty Namibian breakfast prior to checking out. Your guide will then drive you back to Windhoek and drop you at the airport in plenty of time for your departure flight—keeping in mind that you need to arrive at least two hours before your flight and the drive from town to the airport takes 45 to 60 minutes. This concludes your travel services.
